Who we are
Cavallo Building is a family run business owned by father/son team Tom & Douglas Cavallo. Tom originally started Cavallo Building back in 1977 and Doug partnered with him in 1995 after graduating from Stony Brook University with a degree in Business Administration. Cavallo Building was incorporated in 2001. Specializing in high-quality projects, Our work can be found from Southampton to Montauk, as well as along the north shore of Suffolk County.
Cavallo Building has built over 50 new homes ranging in size from 2,000 square feet to 15,000 square feet. These residences are a mix of speculative homes for sale and custom ones built for specialty clients.
In addition to new homes, Cavallo Building has completed many custom extensions and renovations. These range in size from kitchens and bathrooms to large additions.
Cavallo Building is a full-service company that works with several different architects, designers, and real estate professionals to ensure the right fit for their clients. Doug and Tom Cavallo are personally on every job overseeing and coordinating the workflow. Cavallo Building utilizes a full-time staff of carpenters and sub-contractors that have been in conjunction with the company for many years.

Recently, the firm has expanded with the addition of Tom Cavallo, Jr. joining the team. As an agent for Douglas Elliman, his passion for real estate originated at home while working for family business. Since college graduation, Tom has been active in buying, remodeling, and selling properties. His dedication to detail and his active communications with customers and clients make each transaction move along smoothly and uneventfully.
